Hand - Building With Clay - Ages 14+

Join us as we roll up our sleeves and explore the art of hand-building with clay.

We will work on creating bowls, pinch pots, lanterns, and other decorative items incorporating a variety of texturing and structural techniques.

Enrollment in this program will provide each participant with a 10 lb bag of clay,

Hand-building instruction and supervised implementation every Thursday from 3-5 p.m

This includes instruction on preparation for firing and glazing after firing.

Students will be assigned shelf space for work in progress, and instructed on studio tools, and maintenance.

Students will also be welcome to come in and use the clay area during Open Studio time, provided no parties are booked for the clay area.

Fee for 6 week program 

$260 per person*

includes 10 lbs of clay, instruction, use of Open Studio as outlined above, glazing, and firing.

Each participant will need to supply 2 dry cleaner bags, (or similar) to protect their work in progress.

Additional clay is available for purchase as needed.

Important Notes:

We use low-fire earthenware clay in our hand-building workshops.

After bisque firing these items will need to be glazed and retired in order to be food-safe, earthenware items are dishwasher safe and can be microwaved, but are NOT oven-safe

*ON RARE OCCASION Clay projects have accidents in the kiln. If this happens, we provide additional clay to remake a specific item, at no additional charge.

We require a minimum of 3 registrations to run this program.
