🎨 Do I need a reservation?

No! Walk-ins are always welcome during our regular Open Studio hours. Just stop in, choose your project, and start creating.

Reservations are required for select workshops and special events and are recommended for private parties and larger groups.
 

🖌️ Do I need to be artistic or have experience?

Absolutely not! That's what we're here for.

Whether you're a total beginner or a seasoned creative, we'll show you the basics, offer ideas, and help whenever you need it. There are no grades, no wrong answers, and no artistic experience required. Just come in and create!
 

🏺 How does pottery painting work?

It's easy! Choose a piece from our large selection of pottery, pick your colors, and start painting. We'll take care of the glazing and kiln firing for you.

Once your piece is finished, we'll let you know when it's ready for pickup.
 

💰 How much does it cost?

Our projects are individually priced, so you simply pay for the piece you choose.

There is no separate studio fee for regular Paint Your Own Pottery. Your project includes the supplies and studio time needed to create it.

Special workshops and events may have their own pricing.
 

⏰ How long does it take?

We recommend allowing about 1½–2 hours for most Open Studio projects.

Some projects take less time, while detailed masterpieces may take longer. If you're short on time, just let us know and we'll help you find a project that fits your schedule.
 

🔥 When will my pottery be ready?

Because your pottery needs to be glazed and fired in our kiln, it isn't ready the same day.

Most pottery is ready in approximately 1–2 weeks, depending on our firing schedule and the type of project.

We'll provide pickup instructions when you leave your piece with us.
 

😬 What if I make a mistake?

Don't panic!

Most painting mistakes can be fixed or painted over. If you're unsure what to do, just ask one of our team members before trying to fix it yourself.

And remember: there's no such thing as a bad painting—it's your creation!
 

🪟 Do you offer fused glass?

Yes!

Create your own fused-glass design by learning how to cut and arrange colorful pieces of glass. We'll then fire your creation in our kiln.

Fused glass projects require additional processing time and are generally ready in about 1–2 weeks.

For safety reasons, food and drinks aren't permitted at fused-glass workstations.
 

👨‍👩‍👧 Are children welcome?

Absolutely!

Many of our projects are suitable for all ages, although certain workshops have specific age requirements.

Children must be supervised by a parent or responsible adult when appropriate. Check individual event listings for age requirements.
 

🎉 Do you host parties and groups?

We love groups!

We host birthday parties, family gatherings, girls' nights, team-building events, school and scout groups, senior groups, corporate outings, and more.

Private and group events require advance planning, so contact us to start creating your perfect event.
 

🥂 Can I bring food or drinks?

Our food and beverage policies depend on the activity you select.

Some of our adult events are BYOB-friendly, while other activities, such as Fused Glass, have restrictions for safety reasons. Check the individual event description or ask us before your visit.
 

📦 Can I take my project home the same day?

Some projects are Make & Take experiences and can go home with you that day.

Pottery and fused-glass projects that require kiln firing will need to stay with us until they're finished.
 

📍 Where are you located?

Create Escape Studio is located at:

375-A Danbury Road, New Milford, CT

You'll find us right as you enter New Milford when heading north on Route 7.
We're located in the same building as Coldwell Banker, right in front of Candlewood Valley Country Club and across the street from Cumberland Farms.

Additional parking is available in the country club lot.
 

💳 Do you sell gift cards?

Yes! A Create Escape gift card is a great way to give someone a little time to relax, create, and make something of their own.
