The Ideal starter course!
Learn the basics of throwing on a potter's wheel, with an instructor's guidance, during this one
90-minute semi-private wheel lesson.
(15 minutes intro, 60 minutes wheel time, 15 minutes cleanup)
You create the piece, and then we finish, trim, and fire. Then you come back and glaze during our Open Studio hours when it’s convenient for you!
The course includes instruction and bisque and glaze firing of up to 3 small pieces, created from the provided 3 lbs of clay.
Please Note: We do our best to assist all students in creating at least one pottery piece that is viable for firing - However, this is not a guarantee.

Pottery Wheel Instruction
6-Week Wheel Course
Semi-Private Wheel Lessons

Six - 90 minute sessions
During this course, you will start with a ball of clay and learn how to create unique and functional pieces of pottery.
We will cover wheel throwing, wedging, trimming, storage, carving & decorating. You will also learn general studio safety and maintenance practices.
This course includes:
• Instruction from a professional ceramics professional & potter
• 25 lbs. of clay
(Additional clay is available for purchase)
• Designated shelf space for work-in-progress
• Students will have the opportunity to glaze either during their session or during open studio times
• Bisque & Glaze firings of up to 6 pieces - Additional pieces can be fired at an additional fee of $0.05 per cubic inch for bisque firing and $0.10 per cu inch for glaze firing.
